About us at Jouelline Strings Our Staff
Noel Miller, director/owner of jouelline Strings. Jouelline Strings started trading 7 years ago with several old violins, and two new Chinese violins, and a dream of making music an affordable option for everyone. Classically trained on the violin, and played in several music groups and an amature orchestra. Noel started repairing and restoring violins at the age of 15, as a labour of love. 30 years later, and the passion for the violin is just as strong as ever. Noel also played the bassoon for several years.
Oliver Dear, Oliver Dear was born into a musical family, often sleeping on the floors of bars and pubs while his parents were performing, He left his home at 15 to further an interest in working with musical instruments. Playing both Electic Guitar and Mandolin he came 3rd at the 72nd Galax Old Fiddlers Convention in 2007, Virginia USA, and has performed with The Hardrive Bluegrass Band and upcoming original act Reds Under The Bed. Oliver is currently studying his 3rd year of "the making and repair of musical intruments"
Danqi Yan Danqi Yan, a proficient music teacher who has been teaching in middle school in China for 20 years, teaching the piano and the electric keyboard as well as musical expertise. Her goal in this field is to fulfill every student's potential and let music open a door to the fanscinating diverse cultures and make everyone become a better person with love and passion.
Geoffrey Edmunds Geoffrey is our Brass and Woodwind technician, and has a great passion for restoring our vintage woodwind Instruments. Geoffrey has completed the Band Instrument Repair Technology Programme at the Western Iwoa Tech Community College is Sioux City Iwoa, USA. WITCC has the longest continuously operating repair course in the World and is regarded as the pre-eminent college for this type of instruction.
Carl Farral Carl Farrall is a Musical Instrument Repairer who specialises in Brass and Woodwind repairs and professional custom setups. Carl also plays the Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophones as part of "Farrall Music" and has played trumpet and saxophones with various bands and orchestras over the years including: Orchestral Equinox, Small Talk and Farrall Music.
Jamin Smedes Jamin has recently joined Jouelline Strings, as a violin maker / Repairer. Jamin has worked for 7 years with a well known violin maker, and was trained in all areas of restoration, repairs, guitar repairs and setups, and has even made a harpsichord. |
